Adding A Checkered Accent Wall Tutorial
Hi there and Satisfied Monday!!! I have been operating on this post for a whilst, but everyday living ongoing to get in the way – but I required to share a how-to on including this massive checked accent wall, since checkered pattern is so fashionable correct now! It is extremely doable, and you only will need a number of important tools!
What I needed:
A laser degree – I would say this isn’t important, but it produced this task a lot significantly less difficult.
A ruler – I like these wood types
a whole lot of blue tape!!
brushes and rollers
To commence:
Initially I measured my wall dimensions in comprehensive, and divided up the squares into the width that I required. I went with 14 X 14 inch squares. You then have to tape the squares – I started out by taping horizontally, and then moved on to vertical. In order to tape things, you have to have to account for the TAPE Dimension into the whole square size, so you will get started by developing rows 1, 3, and 5 the suitable measurement, and then incorporate the sizing of the tape into the width of rows 2 and 4. You will start by painting each individual other row, even though the in among rows will have tape included portion of the squares. After you paint each and every other row, then you will go again in, and begin to shift tape about. Down below is an example of what my wall seemed like immediately after I was done portray rows 1, 3 and 5 and prepared to paint rows 2 and 4.
At the time the paint is thoroughly dry, you will peel it off, and join corner to corner of the painted squares. You will fundamentally be re-taping the outline of the new squares that you want to paint, It seems incredibly complicated, but I experience like when you are in the venture, it does start to make so significantly sense. Below is an graphic exactly where you can kind of see what I necessarily mean – the accent colour has been painted in between the recently painted squares!
I made the decision to include in this accent shade because I felt like it essential the extra dimension, and I was also impressed by @saraheartmann tutorial, and liked the lavender combined with a 2nd color. I hope this explains it for you, and if you have any supplemental issues just remark underneath!
